Global Health Cafe Co-Lead
Shaban is currently on the NHS Graduate Management Training Scheme, specialising in Policy and Strategy. Whilst in this position, he is also currently studying Health Policy (PGDip) at Imperial College London as well as Healthcare Leadership (PGCert) at the University of Birmingham. Prior to this, he worked within policy and governance at a housing association, gaining experience of the complex issues surrounding the homelessness policy agenda and the intersection between housing and health. Shaban also holds a degree in Politics and international Relation from Cardiff University.
Shaban is driven by tackling health inequalities – particularly those affecting Black communities. Outside of his efforts in the workplace to do this, he has used his voice within the Young Fabians and the Global Health Café to help develop and propose useful action.
